Jimmy Aceto

Two toddlers lying on a bed. One drinks from a pink bottle, and the other leans back. There's a stuffed animal on a patterned pillow.

Jimmy was married and employed at UPS. He needed to resign from that position to care for his children. The reason was that his wife had serious mental health issues, including three in-patient visits in three different hospitals -6 weeks, 4 weeks, and 2 weeks. Jimmy is now a single dad with 13-month-old James and 26-month-old Nicholas. His wife suddenly died from a brain aneurysm. Jimmy and his sons now live in Lindenhurst with his mother, who broke her hip, and his father, who is recovering from heart valve replacement. He had nearly gone through all his savings. His family helps with his expenses, such as diapers, food, and clothes for his sons. As a result of a grant from Life’s Angels, he could enroll the children in a preschool program so he could return to employment on a part-time basis.
