Nia & Tracy

A woman and young girl smile next to a shiny bell with a plaque in the background. The girl wears a black top and patterned skirt.

Nia is a 5-year-old sweetheart. Nia’s life changed forever when they told her mother, Tracy, to rush Nia to the ICU after what was supposed to be a routine sick visit at the pediatrician’s office for Leukemia treatment. Tracy, a single mom, also needed to move into the hospital, sacrificing her employment and income.  Hospital bills, co-pays, and medications all added up very fast. Following the hospital stay, Nia needed substantial follow-up medical treatment. Living in Queens and driving to Long Island for Nia’s needed treatment sustainably increased the mileage allotment on Tracy’s car lease, resulting in extra charges. Life’s Angels provided a grant to ease the financial burden, which provided Tracy (and Nia) with great relief.
